Dillon Pennington possesses the natural strength and height to become an imposing fast bowler of international quality. He was part of Worcestershire's satellite academy in Shropshire - coached by Paul Pridgeon - which has been so prolific in producing young players in recent years. He signed his first professional contract ahead of the 2018 season and, although his returns were modest (22 wickets at 35 in Division One) he received plaudits from the former South African quick Morne Morkel as Surrey secured the Championship against Worcestershire at New Road in September of that year, Morkel commenting that he was "blown away" by his potential. Pennington also represented England in the 2018 Under-19 World Cup.
