A businessman, a farmer and a cricketer - Ben Sanderson has juggled all these three roles ever since making his first-class debut for Yorkshire in 2008. After three games with Yorkshire, he was released from the county in 2011.
The seamer then tried his hand with Worcester second XIs and in 2013 played for Shropshire in 2013. There he picked up 23 wickets from 7 games. After that he made a move to Australia to play club cricket for Laidley Cricket Club in Queensland in 2014. There he worked at a farm to keep himself fit and that worked dividends.
In 2014, Ben gave a trial for the Northants club and in 2015 got a call from the club. But it was in 2016, when he realized his true potential and picked up 55 wickets in the Championships. His 3 for 31 in the T20 final also helped the Northants team to win their second title. Post that season, he was signed up for three more years at the club..
